The digital rights of Gurram Paapi Reddy have been acquired by ZEE5. The streaming platform also confirmed the streaming date through its official social media channels, urging viewers to gear up for the film’s digital release. The announcement revealed January 16 as the premiere date, officially marking the film’s OTT debut.

Released in theatres on December 19, 2025, Gurram Paapi Reddy generated early curiosity due to its unusual premise and ensemble cast. However, the buzz did not translate into box-office numbers, with the film reportedly being pulled from cinemas within four days. In recent times, several Telugu films that struggled theatrically have gained traction on OTT platforms, and the team behind Gurram Paapi Reddy is optimistic about a similar turnaround.

Storyline: A Crime Comedy with a Chaotic Core

Directed by Murali Manohar, the film blends crime and comedy around a bizarre and risky mission. The narrative follows Gurram Paapi Reddy, played by Naresh Agastya, whose financial troubles deepen after his chit fund business collapses, forcing him to declare bankruptcy.

He soon crosses paths with Soudamini, portrayed by Faria Abdullah, an aspiring doctor who has also lost her savings. United by shared misfortune, they join forces with a group of friends. What begins as a desperate attempt to make quick money turns into chaos when the group agrees to transport a dead body to a specific location in exchange for a large sum. Their plan unravels at every step, leading to a chain of unexpected and dangerous situations.

Another version of the story introduces a mysterious individual who orchestrates a corpse exchange in a graveyard, hiring unsuspecting men who slowly realise the gravity of the task they have taken on.

Gurram Paapi Reddy stars Naresh Agastya in the titular role, with Faria Abdullah playing Soudamini. The film is notable for marking popular Tamil comedian Yogi Babu’s Telugu debut. Veteran actor Brahmanandam appears as Judge Vaidyanathan in an important role.

The supporting cast includes Rajkumar Kasireddy, Vamshidhar Goud, Jeevan Kumar, John Vijay, Motta Rajendran, Prabhas Sreenu, Naga Mahesh, and others.
