What’s that about a woman being behind every successful man? As it turns out, the reverse is also true. On February 28, the CEQUIN (Center for Equality and Inclusion) did its bit to honour such men by hosting its first WOWMEN awards at The Leela Palace in New Delhi. Seven men, who have championed and supported female achievers in their lives, were felicitated. Among them, Ziauddin Yousafzai (Nobel peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai’s father) and K Onler Kom (pugilist Mary Kom’s husband). CEQUIN is an NGO founded by Lora Prabhu and Sara Pilot, wife of Congress leader Sachin Pilot.

"Gender equality will create a happier world for all of us," said CEQUIN founder Sara Pilot, here with Sachin Pilot.

Actor Rahul Bose (seen with entrepreneur Rishabh Tongya and actress Preity Zinta) was feted for his activism.
