Gucci shoes worth Rs 1.5 lakh, branded jeans and other luxury items recovered from conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s prison cell

Even after several months of incarceration, conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar hasn’t turned over a new leaf.

A surprise raid conducted inside the conman’s cell in Mandoli, Delhi, revealed he had pilfered many luxury items while in jail. The Delhi Prisons Department recovered a pair of Gucci slippers worth Rs 1.5 lakh and a pair of jeans worth Rs 80,000. A video of the event was shared by the news agency ANI. In the video, the conman, accused of a Rs 200 crore extortion case, was seen standing at the corner and crying profusely.
Last week, on February 16, the Enforcement Directorate arrested the conman in a fresh bamboozling case linked to duping former Religare promoter Malvinder Singh's wife by posing as Union home and law secretaries. This is the third time Chandrasekhar has been charged with money laundering allegations. He has also been accused of duping Aditi Singh, the wife of entrepreneur Malvinder Singh’s brother, former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh of Rs 200 crore and trying to bribe members of the Election Commission to get the AIADMK's 'two leaves’ symbol for the V K Sasikala faction.


The authorities at the jail are now trying to find out who leaked the CCTV footage of the raid to the media. Proper action will be taken against the individual, the officials told ANI.

However this is far from the first time, the conman was reported to be living in the lap of luxury while in jail. In 2022, the conman had gifted actresses such as Chahat Khanna, Sophia Singh, Nikita Tamboli, and Arusha Patil with luxury items such as Gucci, LV bags, Versace watches, etc.

Originally lodged in the high-security Tihar jail, Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his wife Leena Paul were shifted to Mandoli Jail in August 2022.

Several Bollywood celebs like Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi have been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly being involved with Chandrasekhar.
