GS India chairman's dancing divas
It's a favourite quibbling topic for Ameeta Chatterjee, wife of Goldman Sachs India's chairman, Sonjoy Chatterjee's, and their 14-year-old daughter, Sunaina. The two can't decide which one of them was the influencing factor in the duo taking up dance seven years ago, on their return to India from the UK. "It started with us (Sunaina and I) enrolling in a Bharatnatyam class together as a mother-daughter activity," says Ameeta.

There is ample commitment, even if the two get caught up with the daily grind. Ameeta recalls her days at KPMG as director — corporate finance, saying, "I used to be in office till 3:30 on Saturdays and would rush off to attend a class at 4."

Ameeta recently travel led to Chennai with a group of 15 students from her institute, Rajarajeswari Bharatha Natya Kala Mandir, to perform at The Oppiliappan Koil, Kumbakonam, on Ram Navmi. The group re-enacted scenes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Her daughter could not go, due to her exams. But both are excited to participate in the dance institute's 70th year celebrations in Mumbai on April 27. Rehearsals are in full swing.
