Grimes confirms she's still living with Elon Musk amid break-up reports

It may be the end of the road for their three-year-long relationship, but singer Grimes is still living with billionaire ex-boyfriend Elon Musk.

According to last month's Page Six report, Musk had shared with the celebrity news portal that he and Grimes are "semi-separated." Citing distance as the primary cause for their split, he confirmed that they are still in love with each other and on great terms.

"We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms. It's mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She's staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room," he was quoted as saying.


Soon after the reports, the 33-year-old Canadian songwriter said the paparazzi have been chasing her the entire week. "I was really stressed when paparazzi wouldn’t stop following me this week," she wrote on Instagram on Sunday.

In her post, she also confirmed, "Full disclosure I’m still living with e (Elon)."

After a stressful week, Grimes decided to pull a prank on the paparazzi. Dressed in a brown intergalactic outfit with a matching hooded jacket, she posed with Karl Marx’s 'Communist Manifesto' in Los Angeles on Friday.

Her choice of the book confused many, and the pictures started doing rounds on social media.

She further clarified that she isn't a communist despite "smart ideas in the book."

"Personally, I'm more interested in a radical Decentralized Universal Basic Income (DUBI) that I think could potentially be achieved through crypto and gaming. But I haven't ironed that idea out enough yet to explain it. Regardless, my opinions on politics are difficult to describe because the political systems that inspire me the most have not yet been implemented," her caption read.

Asking for more suggestions to troll, she concluded, "If paparazzi keep chasing me, perhaps, I will try to think of more ways to meme."

In her Twitter post, she said, "Paparazzi followed me 2 a shoot. So I tried 2 think what I could do that would yield the most onion-ish possible headline and it worked haha."


In May 2018, the couple sparked relationship rumours when they made their red carpet debut for Met Gala. Within two years of dating, they welcomed X AE A-12 in May 2020.

While this is Grimes's first child, Musk is is already father to six children from his previous marriage - Xavier (17), Griffin (17), Damian (15), Saxon (15), Kai (15) and Nevada Alexander.

Musk and his first-wife Jennifer Justine Wilson - with whom he was married for eight years - got married in 2000. The then-couple's first-born - Nevada Alexander - died in the 10th week of his birth in 2002 due to a condition called - the sudden infant death syndrome.
