Government officials reassess ski resort for environmental damage after Rs 200-cr Auli wedding left behind 24K kg dump
The Uttarkhand High Court had ordered Chamoli district administration to keep an eye on the resort's condition during the wedding.

The assessment was made by inspecting team, constituted by the Chamoli District Magistrate (DM) Swati S Bhadouriya after the Uttarkhand High Court's (HC) order, to keep an eye over the resort where the Rs 200-crore weddings were taking place. Several concerns were raised that the high-profile celebrations could cause possible environmental harm to the fragile Himalayan ecology.

After the stationed team submitted their report to the DM on Tuesday, Bhadouriya had asked them to reassess the place for damages before submitting the final report to the HC on July 7, said Bhadouriya to PTI in a report.

A report along with entire video recordings and photographs of the event will be presented before the HC which alone will decide if it caused any environmental damage to the international ski resort, she had added.

The wedding celebrations of Suryakant, son of Ajay Gupta, took place in Auli from June 18 to 20, while the marriage of Atul Gupta's son Shashank was held from June 20 to 22.
