Google’s Locked Folder feature for Android users will protect sensitive photos & videos; how it works

The 'Locked Folder' was first launched specifically for Pixel phones in June. However, the exact date for when this feature will be made public for android users is not yet confirmed. But Google said that it will be launched through the year after first being available to Pixel users.
The Google Photos Locked Folder will hide selected pictures and videos from search, app's main grid and other applications that have access to your phone's photo gallery. The images will not be backed up or shared and will require a device screen lock for one to access it. The lock could be a facelock, fingerprint, PIN or pattern.

How does it work?
In order to set up a Locked Folder, users need to first visit the Photo library on the device, then click on Utilities, then Locked Folder in the Google Photos app.
