NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google brings sustainability to the comfort of your home with the all-new Nest Mini at Rs 4,499. The fabric used on the Home Mini successor is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, and the external enclosure is also made from 35% recycled plastic.

A company statement confirmed that a single half-litre plastic bottle makes enough fabric to cover more than two Nest Mini devices. It also said that all Nest products that are launching in 2019 will be built using varying amounts of recycled plastics.

The device supports both English and Hindi, just like Google Home and Home Mini. It is exclusively available on ecommerce platform Flipkart, and comes in two colour variants - Chalk and Charcoal. While the new device has the iconic Home Mini design, it also comes with wall mounting capabilities.

As a part of the latest addition to 'Made by Google' family, the California-based company said that the new smart speaker has been completely re-engineered with Google Assistant. It also claims that the software and hardware of Nest Mini has been upgraded to bring out a stronger bass than its predecessor. The newly-developed audio tuning software helps deliver clear and natural sound.

With help from Google Assistant, the speaker can help control compatible smart home devices brands like Philips Hue, TP-Link and more. Google has also embedded a dedicated machine learning chip, with up to one TeraOPS of processing power, in Nest Mini.

In a statement, Google mentioned that the new speaker comes with improved ability to operate in noisy environments. "The Assistant automatically modulates the output sound according to the background noise in the room. It also senses proximity to light up the LED as soon as the user’s hand gets close to the device; guiding where to tap and adjust the volume," the statement read.

Multiple Google smart speakers can be connected for a surround sound experience. Users can also create different groups in the Google Home app for music, podcasts and other features, and have the flexibility to shuffle music, audiobooks and podcasts from one speaker to another with the help of voice. This version also provides the option of transferring music or podcasts from the phone to the speaker.

The new Google Duo functionality also helps in staying connected to the family members. Users can call a family member's devices from the Google Home app, using the intercom feature for free.
