Google is not just for techies
Google CEO Sundar Pichai busted one critical myth about Google — that it's not just for technical professionals.

He took questions during the hour-long chat, not just from the host but also from the audience. Pichai spilt a few beans about himself in the process. That, and busted one critical myth about Google — that it's not just for the techie.
A student asked how non-computer science graduates can make their way to the tech giant's hallowed halls. Pichai responded, "We do hire a lot of people who are non-computer science under-grads. To do a product well, building a product is only one aspect of it. You want to build it, you want to scale it, take it to market. How do you take it to market? How do you sell it in certain cases? The end to end work that is needed to make a product work is a very cross-functional thing."
He added that Google hires people from all kinds of backgrounds. "There are language majors at Google, people who have done history, business, commerce, engineering. I am confident in fact that a majority of people at Google don't have computer science as an undergrad background overall."
The non-techies in the crowd must have found much solace in Pichai's words.
