Google Fitbit Charge 5 review: This tracker is just fit to be bought

At Rs 14,999, the fitness tracker manages to stand out from the crowd.

The OLED screen has good brightness levels, though touch responsiveness is a little disappointing.
Google-owned wearables company Fitbit has launched its latest fitness tracker in India – Fitbit Charge 5 – which features a bigger, coloured touchscreen with an alwayson display. Fitbit Charge 5 has a 1.04-inch screen, slightly bigger than the Charge 4’s 1-inch version. The OLED screen has good brightness levels, though touch responsiveness is a little disappointing. The screen feels too small, limiting the actions that can be performed.

There is no physical button either. Fitbit Charge 5 has an aluminium-glass body with a silicone band. The stainless-steel rails on the sides work as sensors. The tracker is lightweight and causes no discomfort. The device can be paired with a smartphone using the Fitbit app.

The fitness tracker displays step count, calories burned and active zone minutes on the home screen. It has a basic UI. One can swipe back and forth to scroll through settings, daily statistics and other health features. Heart rate and blood oxygen levels can also be monitored.

Fitbit Charge 5 offers sleep tracking and gives a quality of sleep score. It can also be used to track menstrual cycles. Users can log cycles and record symptoms on the Fitbit app. It is water-resistant up to 50 metres.

Along with the ability to show notifications for calls and messages, the Fitbit Charge 5 also offers a quick reply feature. The device can easily last a week on a single charge. At Rs 14,999, the fitness tracker manages to stand out from the crowd.
