Google takes the wraps off Chromecast 3 in India. The third generation of Google's streaming dongle now comes in a stylish, matte finish. And more.

The Google Chromecast is a cheap, simple way to stream video content right to your TV. The Google Chromecast first made an appearance in 2013, and got an update in 2015 with a new design, alongside the Chromecast Audio; the Chromecast Ultra followed in 2016.

Although, the tech giant had not announced anything about the third-generation Chromecast during its annual hardware event, the upgrade was made available on the Google Store right after.

The new Chromecast 3 device sports a sleeker look, with a matte-coat, and a slick G logo replacing the older Chrome logo.

However, the gadget’s form factor has remained the same, a circular pebble-like device, with a fixed HDMI cable and micro-USB power port.

Quick guide on setting it up
For the uninitiated, plug it into your TV, have a smartphone or computer handy, and follow the instructions. As soon as Chromecast and your controller device connect to the same Wi-Fi, they should recognise each other and walk you through the rest of the process.
