'Goodies bhi, baddy bhi!' Amul celebrates India's historic Thomas Cup victory with a quirky topical

The Indian men's badminton team sketched history on Sunday with their first-ever Thomas Cup title win.

It's important to mention that the team delivered a power-packed show that will go down in sporting history as a watershed moment for Indian badminton, which can be compared to Team India's glorious 1983 World Cup victory in cricket.

So no wonder Indians from all over the world have been showering praise on the team on social media. It's a much-deserved moment of celebration, indeed.


On Monday, the dairy brand Amul joined in as well and shared an adorable topical on the team's historic victory. Amul took to Twitter to share the creative with fans.

In a quirky way, the Amul girl is seen standing with her arms open, holding a badminton racquet along with the team as they show off a victory and thumbs-up sign while holding bread and butter in one hand.

India registered a dominant 3-0 win over 14-time champion team Indonesia in the final on Sunday in Bangkok with exceptional performance by World Championships medallist Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth and world number 8 doubles duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy.

Meanwhile, in the latest update, Rankireddy and Shetty pulled out of the Thailand Open Super 500 tournament on Tuesday. According to a report in PTI, Shetty suffered some niggles during the tournament. The pair has informed the Badminton Association of India on Monday about their decision to skip the event this week.
