Good news, Kapil Sharma fans! Comedian back on television with new show on Sony

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (SET), the flagship Hindi general entertainment channel from the Sony Pictures Network India stable, has announced the launch of 'The Kapil Sharma Show', with popular comedian Kapil Sharma.

Prior to this, Sharma was part of rival channel Colors' top rated non-fiction show, 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'. However, after almost 3 years on Colors, differences emerged between Colors and Sharma and they parted ways.



Media buyers term this move as a first where a property (in this case Kapil Sharma) is moving from Colors to Sony as so far, it was the other way around. Some of the most popular non-fiction shows on Colors, including 'Bigg Boss', 'Fear Factor Khataron Ke Khiladi', and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Ja'.

Along with Sharma, most of his team from 'Comedy Nights With Kapil', including Navjot Singh Siddhu, Kiku Sharda, Sunil Grover, Chandan Prabhakar, Ali Asgar, and Sumona Chakravarti, will be a part of the new show.
