Oppo launches first-ever 10x Hybrid Zoom tech in cameras

The technology will be available for mass production in the next few months.

Smartphone maker OPPO has revolutionised mobile photography with its 10x Hybrid Zoom innovation.

Smartphones are a modern marvel, and their associated technologies have been evolving at a breakneck pace. Global smartphone maker OPPO has been a pioneer in offering avant-garde innovation while making them accessible to the masses with reasonable pricing. Over the years, OPPO has developed a number of technologies to improve the user experience. It has now become the first smartphone maker in the world to announce the ‘10x Hybrid Zoom’ technology in cameras.

Next-gen cameras

OPPO became the first company to announce a smartphone camera module that offers 10x Hybrid Zoom at the recently concluded MWC 2019 in Las Vegas, USA. The technology will be available for mass production and the company plans to launch its device in the next few months, globally. It has adopted a periscope optical structure and realised the 10x Hybrid Zoom through the coordinative work of three cameras, from the ultra-wide-angle camera to the telephoto camera, which contain the combined effect of both optical and digital zoom.

The Find X was launched just a few weeks ago and India is expected to be amongst the first lot of countries to get it. The Find X has a beautiful glass body with a motorized camera module. The front has a 6.4-inch curved Amoled display (without a notch) giving it a screento-body ratio of 93%. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage and a 3,730mAh battery. The motorized camera module hides a 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera and a 25MP front camera. The Zenfone 5Z will be the second smartphone to be available in India with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The company has announced the Mi 8 in China as their new flagship and it is expected that the phone will launch in India this month. The Mi 8 features a notched 6.2-inch amoled display in 19:9 aspect ratio and a 7000 series aluminium frame. It comes with an 3D Face unlock similar to the iPhone X (with infrared), rear fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support and runs the latest MiUI 10 based on Android 8.1. The upcoming smartphone in the range, Moto E5 Plus, features a 6-inch 18:9 aspect display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and weight of 197 grams.
