After Halle Berry won a Best Actress Oscar for her role in Monster’s Ball in 2001, she started commanding more than $10 million per picture, according to Reuters.

Companies, like Grey Poupon mustard, pay big money to advertise during the show. A 30-second Oscars ad spot cost between $1.7 million and $1.85 million this year, according to Business Insider.

Winning the Oscar for Best Picture is worth $13,980,757 over the course of your career, according to Lear Capital.

In the four years leading up to 2011, the Best Picture winners saw a 22 per cent bump in box office revenue after they were nominated and another 15 per cent bump once they won, according to IBISWorld.

Early Oscar wins and nominations tend to be more lucrative. Like Anna Paquin, who became the second youngest Oscar winner when she won for her role in The Piano in 1993. She’s now worth an estimated $12 million and takes in $75,000 per episode of True Blood, according to BankRate.

Even if winners don’t get a career boost from an Oscar nod, they’ll still be the proud owner of a statue that costs $400 to make, according to Southern California Public Radio.
