Glasgow University names research building after Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, husband John; Zerodha co-founder 'amazed'
The couple had gifted $7.5 million to the university in July 2019.

The Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre, also known as ARC, will be home to more than 500 researchers ranging from a variety of disciplines, facilitating world changing collaborative research.
According to reports released by the university, the £116 million building will officially open to students this year in June.

Mazumdar-Shaw and Shaw, who is also a graduate from the same university, had gifted $7.5 million (around Rs 57 crore) to the education centre in July 2019 as part of their philanthropic investments.
The 69-year-old Indian-origin boss took to Twitter to share the video shared by the University of Glasgow, showcasing 'The John Shaw Science Wing'.
In her post, she said that she and her husband were thrilled to see their donation being put to 'such excellent use' by Shaw's school. She said that the building will help young minds learn scientific knowledge.

Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath quote-tweeted University of Glasgow's official naming announcement. He wrote, "Amazing", alongside a red heart emoji.
