Want to gift the world of smart storage to your loved one? ET reviews two unique options under Rs 11,000.
Stuffcool Powerbank Price: Rs 2,699 (10,000mAh) and Rs 3,699 (20,000mAh) Rating: **** Not many people are aware of the dangers of a low quality or improperly manufactured powerbank.
Abysmal performance is the smallest of cons going all the way up to catastrophic failure (read: explosion). This is one of the main reasons for their ban in check in bags by airlines is because there are so many fakes and low quality units that flood the market.
Your best bet is to get a branded powerbank with a guarantee and BIS certification. Then, you can start looking for additional features.
This one from Stuffcool is the first powerbank of it’s kind to come with dual QC 3.0 (QuickCharge) outputs. This means that it can intelligently switch power output between 5Volt/3Amp, 9Volt/2Amp and 12Volt/1.5Amp according to the phone’s compatibility and charge state. There’s also a USB type C fast charge port (dual function – input and output) on it.

Inside the sturdy aluminium casing are lithium-polymer cells, protected against overcharging and wrong connections (short circuit).
With the 20,000mAh capacity, you can charge a typical smartphone fully 4 to 5 times. The only negative is that it only comes with one micro USB cable — an additional Lightning and USB C cable would have been much better.
Stuck with low storage space on iPhone? There are a number of external storage solutions available for iOS devices but none as versatile as this. TubeDrive is a small, Applecertified accessory that can expand the storage on your phone and backup your data (contacts, calendar, photos etc) for safekeeping. But it’s called the TubeDrive because of the YouTube functionality.

Once you download the companion app, you can sign in to the YouTube viewer to download videos to the TubeDrive’s built in storage. Once this is done, you can unplug the drive and transfer/view the videos on a computer or share them — completely unrestricted. Videos download in MP4 format and play on most devices.
A few downsides we found: the app is not very intuitive to use, the app only works with the TubeDrive plugged into the phone and video downloads are restricted to 720p HD quality (even if YouTube has a higher resolution available).
