Ghaati officially released on OTT: Where to watch Anushka Shetty's Telugu action movie online

After a brief theatrical run earlier this month, the intense crime-action drama Ghaati has finally made its way to digital platforms today, September 26. The film, featuring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu in lead roles, is set in a gritty and politically charged backdrop, with a focus on tribal resistance and survival. Despite a modest box office performance, Ghaati stirred curiosity for its unique setting and powerful performances, especially Anushka’s.

The makers have officially confirmed that Ghaati is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Starting today, audiences can watch the film in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, making it accessible to wider audience. Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under the First Frame Entertainments banner, the film aims to reach a wider viewership with its digital release.



Set against the rugged terrain of the Eastern Ghats along the Andhra-Odisha border, Ghaati explores the lives of a marginalised tribal community coerced into illegal trade and smuggling. The story mainly focusses on Sheelavathi (played by Anushka Shetty) and Desi Raju (played by Vikram Prabhu), two brave individuals who strive to break free from the shackles of exploitation and lead their people toward freedom. Their fight puts them in direct conflict with the brutal crime syndicate run by the Naidu brothers, Kundhul Naidu (Chaitanya Rao Madadi) and Kaastala Naidu (Ravindra Vijay).

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film mixes action with emotional depth, talking about themes such as resilience, tribal identity, and systemic oppression. While it garnered praise for its performances, particularly Anushka Shetty’s commanding screen presence, critics felt the storyline lacked the punch needed to fully engage mainstream audiences. As a result, Ghaati had a lukewarm run in theatres following its September 5 release.


Following the film’s release, Anushka Shetty took to her social media to announce a break from the digital world. “Trading blue light to candle light,” she wrote, expressing a desire to reconnect with real-life experiences beyond screens. However, fans won’t have to wait long to see her again, she will return in the upcoming Malayalam horror-fantasy thriller Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer, marking her Malayalam debut.
