Getting creative in the garage: How Akash Das customised his bike with Rs 5 lakh
Why limit creativity to your office desk when you can take it to the garage too? That’s what Akash Das, the executive creative director of an ad agency, does.

With a penchant for bikes and their working, Das keeps his weekends free to customise bikes. Last year, he spent all weekends working on one bike which was handed over to him by its owner, a Goa-based collector, Ajay Uthaman.

The classic set of wheels, which Uthaman calls ‘Hwyl’ was given to Das in June 2016 to make handmade modifications. “After much discussion and some sketches, Uthaman said he loved it and agreed to allow me to transform his bike. I worked in a Vasai workshop throughout weekends,” he told ETPanache.

The modification, Das added, cost Rs 5 lakh, but he says it’s fully worth it, since it’s customised.
