Get it only if it fits here: Mahesh Murthy's car(ing) advice for Prashant Ruia's Tesla
Even as Essar CEO Prashant Ruia recently bought a Tesla car, news was abuzz that it was the first electric car in India. Mahesh Murthy, founder, Pinstorm, who has also booked the futuristic car, had a different take on it.

“Tesla is actually not in India. It was bought overseas and the buyer had it shipped here,” he said. With no support or service centers in place for the car in India yet, Murthy added that he’s happy to wait for his new ride when it comes with a dealer and charging network.

“Tesla is actually useless unless you have a network of chargers around as it is going to run out of charge every 200 kilometers. The option to import it will always be there, but if you got it here, it should fit here. It should be duty-paid and service-supported in India by the official network,” Murthy said.
