Gender bias: The one Facebook post you need to read today
Breaking stereotypes and empowering women, this post is everything the world needs.

Women have been blamed, pitied at for far too long just due to the absence of a man in their lives. But, things are changing, one step at a time.
A recent touching Facebook post by The Pink Ladoo showed that gender shouldn't and doesn't matter. The photo of a woman giving away her daughter's hand in marriage, a custom usually reserved for the father, is making waves for all the right reasons. This ritual, in absence of a father, is usually performed by some other male relative.
The question is why, why the bias. If a single mother can raise her daughters, why does she need some other relative to perform a ritual.
It's things like these, that sometimes make your day!
The Pink Ladoo project is an organisation trying to encourage the South Asian community in UK to recognise the damaging impact of gender biased traditions on young girls.
