It’s been four years since he passed, but avant garde Brit designer Alexander McQueen continues to be an inspiration. Closer home, home décor expert Gauri Khan revealed that she draws creative energy from the designs of fashion’s famous ‘enfant terrible’.

“I like the theatrical imagery of Alexander McQueen’s work and find it interesting that he could extend his designs to shoes, scarves, handbags and other such accessories, instead of being relegated to only clothes,” says Khan, who has recently launched her signature line of designs under Dubai-based design house The First Ferry.

Speaking about whom she admires in contemporaries, Khan adds, “I also like the work of Tom Dixon and love his modern style of accessories; in fact his work can also be found in my Mumbai store.
