Specifications: 5-inch IPS display (960 x 540 pixels), 1.3Ghz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, microSD slot, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, Android 4.4, 2,300mAh battery, 144 grams

NEW DELHI: The new Xperia E4 is a departure from Sony's usual Omnibalance design. It has curved edges and a textured finish on the back panel. While this design provides a good grip, it also makes it appear bulky .The volume button is placed below the power button on the right side and if you are switching from another phone to this one, it will take some time to get used to.
Up front is a 5-inch IPS display that has great viewing angles and vibrant colors. However, we feel that the resolution of 960 x 540 pixels is a letdown for the asking price.

Specifications include a 1.3Ghz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. However, you can easily get a phone with an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage for less than Rs 10,000. That being said, performance is good -we did not face issues with basic functions such as calls, SMS and social networking. Heavy games had regular frame drops, so those are best avoided on the E4.

Camera performance could have been better too. The 5MP rear and front camera gave us images with a lot of visible noise and low details.Thankfully the audio output from the speaker as well as voice all quality from the phone is top-notch.

Seems like Sony needs to pull up their socks in terms of software too. Their user interface now feels dated and continues to full of bloatware. Others have slick interfaces and are moving to no-bloatware: Sony should follow suit A saving grace is the battery life. With regular use, it lasted close to one and half days. However, considering that you get similar specifications, performance, with HD display and 4G support on the Lenovo A6000 for just Rs 6,999, the Xperia E4 Dual just seems to be quite overpriced. We even recommend Asus' Zenfone 5 (Rs 8,499) over the Xperia E4. And if you want a larger screen & better specifications, the Yu Yureka at Rs 8,999 is the among the best at that price.
