Future Group's Kishore Biyani shares a warm relationship with Neville Noronha, CEO, Avenue Supermarts
Neville Noronha, CEO, Avenue Supermarts (the parent company of D-Mart) says that he shares a warm relationship with Future Group founder Kishore Biyani. “I have met him only twice at social gatherings. There’s mutual admiration. I’m too small a guy to be compared to Kishore ji,” says Noronha, who is reportedly richer by Rs 900 crore, after the company went public last month. As for what they discussed at the gatherings, all he is ready to reveal is that they never discussed business.

Ask Noronha if there are any corporate bosses whose work he admires, he says that he tends to be awed by businesses instead. “I like some global retailers like Walmart, Costco, Zara, Uniqlo. I get excited by global businesses and by the way they are run,” says Noronha.
