Funky box office collection Day 1: Vishwak Sen, Kayadu Lohar’s film opens on a good note over Valentine’s Day weekend

Ahead of Valentine's Day, Mass ka Das, aka Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar, took over the big screens with their latest movie, Funky. Directed by Anudeep KV, the film hit the theatres on February 13 and received mixed responses from the audience and critics alike. Amid this, Funky kicked off on a good note at the box office.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, the romantic comedy movie Funky minted Rs 2.25 crore on day 1. Funky has been jointly produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.



Moreover, the early reactions to Funky on X (formerly Twitter) have been mixed. One user felt the first half had its moments, especially when the comedy clicked, but pointed out that the screenplay and editing felt messy. According to them, the second half turned out average, with only a few scenes truly working. They also said Kayadu Lohar stood out on screen, while Vishwak Sen seemed slightly out of place. The songs the user added, were disappointing.

Another netizen rated the film 2.5 out of 5, calling it a passable watch with scattered laughs but several cringeworthy portions. While some jokes landed well, others felt forced. They compared Vishwak’s presence to using the wrong player in a cricket match, but praised Kayadu for her screen presence. A third user described the film as a decent entertainer with Anudeep’s signature humour, though they criticised the editing for abrupt cuts. Overall, many agreed that the film is watchable mainly for its comedy moments.


The film also features VK Naresh, VTV Ganesh, Sampath Raj, Easwari Rao, Raghu Babu, and Murali Goud in supporting roles. Music for the movie has been composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, while Naveen Nooli serves as the editor and Suresh Sarangam as the cinematographer.
