Things are normalising, he said. Instead, the calls he receives are about fixed deposits and assured return plans, signaling a shift from aggressive speculation to cautious investment. This change mirrors the broader cooling of market frenzy as investors retreat from high-risk bets and refocus on stability, he said.
Gurmeet Chadha, currently the Chief Investment Officer at Complete Circle Consultants, has long emphasized the importance of staying invested through market cycles. Reflecting on the recent correction, he pointed out that markets, much like life and sports, go through inevitable ups and downs. His analysis underscores the power of long-term investing: Rs 10 lakh invested in the Nifty 50 two decades ago would have grown to Rs 1.45 crore at an annualized return of 14%. However, missing just the 10 best days in the market would have reduced the value to Rs 68 lakh, and missing the 20 best days would bring it down to Rs 40 lakh.
With foreign fund outflows crossing Rs 1 lakh crore this year and sentiment remaining fragile, market watchers advise caution.
