From screen Goddess to temple deity: Samantha Ruth Prabhu gets fan-built shrine
In Andhra Pradesh, a devoted fan named Sandeep has erected a temple for actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, complete with a statue, to honor her influence. The temple's inauguration coincided with Samantha's birthday, celebrated with community service. ...

The inauguration of the temple coincided with Samantha’s birthday on April 28. On this special day, Sandeep celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake surrounded by local children and organizing a food donation initiative to mark the event with kindness and community service.
According to a report by M9 News, Sandeep revealed that his admiration for Samantha stems not only from her onscreen performances but also from the positive influence she has had on him personally. He expressed that her strength, talent, and personality moved him so profoundly that he felt compelled to dedicate a place of worship to her.
Interestingly, this is not an isolated act of devotion in the entertainment world. Similar shrines have previously been built by fans for other stars such as Rajinikanth, Namitha, and Nidhhi Agerwal, illustrating the intense emotional connection that Indian cinema often inspires among its admirers.
On the professional front, Samantha was last featured in Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she starred alongside Varun Dhawan. Although the series garnered appreciation and a strong viewer base, it was recently disclosed that Citadel: Honey Bunny will not be returning for a follow-up season. This announcement also affects Citadel: Diana, another spin-off of the original Citadel series that starred Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
Vernon Sanders, the Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios, addressed the situation by explaining that while the story arcs of the Indian and Italian adaptations were successful, they will now be incorporated into the storyline of the main Citadel series. According to Sanders, the upcoming season promises to be the most thrilling yet, featuring more complex narratives, fresh cast additions, and greater cinematic scale.
He emphasized that Season 2 will delve deeper into the emotional journeys of central characters Nadia, Mason, and Orlick as they confront the ever-present threat posed by the mysterious group known as Manticore. The second season is expected to premiere globally in the second quarter of 2026.
As of now, filmmakers Raj and DK, who directed the Indian version, have not commented on the series’ future.
