That’s $110,500 more than it would have been worth Buffett hadn’t personally signed the dashboard in black marker. Steve Jobs

The late Apple co-founder’s dream of producing an Apple car may still be years away, but his own set of wheels ended up raking in a handsome amount in 2017. Jobs’s Titanium silver BMW Z8, which he had purchased in 2000, reportedly on the advice of Oracle’s Larry Ellison, at the time, cost $128,000. Auction house Sotheby’s sold the car for a cool $329,500 at its New York Icons auction. The car had an interesting ownership after Jobs, too. The second owner acquired it in 2003 and sold it about a year later. However, the person regretted the decision and convinced the buyer to sell him the car back in April 2006.

One would think the billionaire investor holds his biggest, most expensive buys the closest. But for Buffett, it’s a ukulele that he calls his best investment. The Berkshire Hathaway chief bought the instrument to serenade a girl he liked while in college. While they didn’t end up together, the ukulele remained very much around. In fact, parties at Buffett’s house were incomplete without him playing a set. Finally, in 2015, he played the uke at a Texas fundraiser, autographed it and then auctioned it off for $25,000.
