An Ahmedabad couple has turned a small after-hours venture into a growing drinks business, selling cold coco and cold coffee from the back of their car. Darshan Zinzuvadiya, a software engineer, and his wife Shruti launched The Coco Station in July 2025 with an initial investment of around Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. It began with their friend's encouragement, which led to an initial 14 bottles a day sales and now averages to 150 bottles daily and generating around Rs 6 lakh in monthly revenue. As demand grew, Shruti quit her job to focus on the business.

The couple’s routine revolves around Darshan’s office hours. Every morning, they prepare the ingredients, clean the equipment and fill their ice box. Once Darshan returns from work, they head out from 9 PM to midnight to sell their drinks, as per Startup Pedia.

From 14 bottles to 30,000 sold

The Coco Station’s growth has been reflected in its sales. They have sold around 30,000 bottles in total and crossed Rs 36 lakh in cumulative revenue. During Navratri alone, the couple sold approximately 7,500 bottles in just nine days.

The venture now brings in around Rs 20,000 in daily sales and Rs 6 lakh in monthly revenue. According to the couple, it has continued to run on its own earnings. Monthly operating expenses, including raw materials, bottles and other costs, range from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, reported Starup Pedia.

Shruti about quitting her job

Shruti said on LinkedIn that she was glad she quit her job to build something of her own. Running a business from her car’s trunk may not involve a fancy setup, but it represents “freedom, ownership, learning” and the courage to start from zero.

She further added how starting one's own business comes with a learning curve. She learned how to hande "uncertainty, talk to customers, manage money, solve problems, accept failures and keep moving forward", even when things do not work out as planned.
