Engineering Graduate Quits Corporate Job, Earns Rs 2 Lakh A Month From Cab Business

An engineer built up a business and is raking in Rs 2 lakh per month. The thriving business he built has nothing to do with engineering or any of the fields – engineering graduates generally find careers in business consultancy, human resources, IT consultancy, etc., but... cab driving! Yes, you heard that right. Taking to LinkedIn, a marketing consultant named Yash Patel shared a story of how he met an engineer-turned-cab driver who was making Rs 2 lakhs per month.

Yash revealed how the driver was once an engineering graduate, earning just Rs 25,000 per month, but he was obviously not satisfied with the job. So he made a major decision - he left corporate life behind to become a full-time cab driver.

He decided to take a financial risk by purchasing a car on EMI, followed by a second and then a third. Today, he owns four cars, driving one himself while employing hired drivers to operate the other three. Each of these vehicles reportedly generates a daily income, turning his car ownership into a potential revenue stream.

Yash wrote: “What caught my attention wasn't the number.

It was the gap. An engineering job gave him ₹25,000 a month.

A decision most people questioned eventually gave him nearly 8 times that…”

Yash observed how many professionals chase promotions, job appraisals, and job switching to finally land a dream high-paying job. However, one engineering graduate decided early on in his career to ditch climbing the corporate ladder and make his fortune in a field which is shunned and stigmatised by many desi people.

Yash’s post went viral on LinkedIn. One LinkedIn user said some people can benefit from realising what they want in life and taking a calculated risk. “The path depends on each person's ability to take risks and understand the current scenario,” the comment read. Another commenter said, "Sometimes financial growth comes from different paths, not just traditional jobs.”
