As Apple finally opened the doors to its first store in India on Tuesday, hundreds of people lined up to be the first ones. The day was made all the more special with the attendance of Apple's Chief Executive, Tim Cook, who inaugurated the first retail store run located in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).

Ahead of the opening, Cook took to Twitter to announce he is finally making his first visit to India in seven years. "Hello, Mumbai! We can’t wait to welcome our customers to the new Apple BKC tomorrow," Cook tweeted.

Of course, this was enough to inspire people to line-up outside the Apple Store. One of the people standing in the line is Purva Mehta, who waited in the long queue to meet the Apple CEO.

The 30-year-old, originally from Rajasthan, didn't want a selfie or small chit chat but instead had a very special thing planned. Mehta wanted Cook's signature on iPod Touch, perfectly in mint-condition and boxed. So he camped outside the Apple BKC store until the CEO showed up next morning to throw the gates open for the public.

"The fanboy inside me would not listen," Mehta told Reuters

Mehta bought the iPod Touch through eBay, and he managed to get Cook's signature on the device.

Ahead of the grand opening of the Apple BKC store, Cook enjoyed street food with Madhuri Dixit Nene. Cook thanked Dixit for introducing him to his very first Vada Pav. "it was delicious," the Apple CEO said.
Cook was later spotted giving Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani a visit at his Antilia house, the main residence of the Ambanis.
