September 2026 has a packed OTT schedule, with new movies, web series and returning shows arriving across Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, ZEE5 and Apple TV. The line-up covers almost every genre, from action thrillers and political crime dramas to romance, comedy, horror and historical stories.

Among the titles this month are Lust Stories 3, Fauda Season 5, The Revolutionaries, Ghamasaan and The Paper Season 2. There are also several international releases and South Indian movies and series joining the streaming platforms. Gandhari – September 3 (Netflix)

Taapsee Pannu returns in an action-heavy role with Gandhari, which premiered on Netflix on September 3. The Hindi original follows a mother who sets out to find and rescue her kidnapped daughter.


The story takes her through a difficult journey involving revenge and redemption. Ishwak Singh also stars in the film, which gives September's OTT calendar an early action-thriller release.

The Gentlemen Season 2 – September 3 (Netflix)

Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen returns with its second season on September 3. The crime comedy-drama once again centres on Eddie, an aristocrat who inherits his family's estate and discovers that the property is home to a massive weed empire.

The new season continues the story around the unusual criminal world that Eddie finds himself involved in after inheriting the estate.

Dhamaal 4 – September 4 (Netflix)

The Dhamaal franchise returned with its fourth instalment on September 4. Dhamaal 4 brings back the comedy format associated with the series and features Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Ritesh Deshmukh and others.

The film is aimed at viewers looking for a lighter watch, with the familiar ensemble cast driving the latest chapter of the comedy franchise.

Unmadham – September 4 (SonyLIV)

Unmadham is a Malayalam mystery thriller directed by Kiran Das, featuring Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose. The film follows Shelly, a civil police officer who also dreams of becoming a screenwriter.

His interest in storytelling takes him back to an old case surrounding the mysterious death of a young woman. Unmadham explores how Shelly’s investigation and writing ambitions become intertwined as he tries to uncover what really happened. The film started streaming on SonyLIV on September 4.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan – September 5 (ZEE5)

Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor headline Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, a Hindi musical romance that arrived on ZEE5 on September 5.

The film combines romance and music and follows a love story at its centre. It offers a different option for viewers who want something more emotional after the action and comedy releases at the beginning of September.

Bigg Boss Season 20 – September 6 (JioHotstar)

Bigg Boss Season 20 premiered on JioHotstar on September 6, bringing back one of Hindi television's biggest reality shows.

Salman Khan returns as the host as a new group of contestants enters the Bigg Boss house. The season once again revolves around tasks, nominations, friendships, rivalries and the daily conflicts that develop inside the house.

Fauda Season 5 – September 8 (Netflix)

Fauda Season 5 arrives on Netflix on September 8, bringing Lior Raz back as Doron.

The new season follows Doron as he travels to Marseille while trying to intercept former teammates who have gone rogue on an unsanctioned revenge mission against a Hamas operative. He is eventually pulled into a deep-cover operation that forces the team to deal with a wider threat as well as problems within its own counter-terrorism system.

Chumbak – September 10 (Netflix)

Netflix's Chumbak is a Hindi family comedy-drama set in Chumbak Colony in Chembur, Mumbai.

The series follows five interconnected households whose lives are closely linked through everyday conversations, family problems and colony gossip. A small issue in one home can quickly become a much bigger problem involving everyone around them.

Crew Girl – September 10 (Netflix)

Crew Girl is an eight-episode teen sports drama centred on 16-year-old rowing star Teagan Tao, played by Miku Martineau.

After her father's financial scandal forces the family to move, Teagan joins an elite East Coast school. Since there is no girls' rowing team, she decides to join the troubled all-boys varsity crew team as its coxswain. Her new life also becomes complicated by a romantic triangle involving team captain Josh and local underdog Cam.

Call My Agent! The Movie – September 10 (Netflix)

Five years after the ASK talent agency closed, Andréa Martel has moved into filmmaking and is preparing to direct her first feature.

Her plans begin to fall apart when her lead actor leaves the project just days before shooting starts. Andréa is then forced to bring her former colleagues back together to try and save the production.

Ghamasaan – September 11 (ZEE5)

Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi face off in Ghamasaan, a political crime thriller directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Set in Bundelkhand, the film follows Maharaj, a powerful and elusive dacoit leader played by Warsi. Pratik Gandhi plays Aditya, a Special Task Force officer assigned to capture him. The investigation soon becomes more complicated as Aditya encounters political corruption and a system that protects Maharaj.

The Revolutionaries – September 11 (Prime Video)

Nikkhil Advani's The Revolutionaries takes viewers back to the period of British rule in India.

Set largely around 1912, the historical action thriller follows young Indian freedom fighters who refuse to accept colonial rule and decide to take up armed resistance.

The series stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada and focuses on a generation willing to sacrifice everything for the country's freedom.

Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot – September 11 (JioHotstar)

Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot brings supernatural horror and comedy together. The story begins after Professor Tapish, a prominent archaeologist, disappears while working at a mysterious ancient ruin.

The series adds a lighter and more unusual entry to the September OTT schedule for viewers who enjoy stories involving ghosts but do not want a completely serious horror show.

Prince of Mollywood – September 11 (JioHotstar)

The Malayalam comedy-drama Prince of Mollywood follows Firoz, a young man who dreams of becoming a major actor in the Malayalam film industry.

His biggest problem is his millionaire father, who does not support his cinematic ambitions. The story revolves around Firoz trying to pursue his dream while dealing with his family's expectations.

Dain Davis plays the lead, with Vidhya Vijayakumar, Nirmal Palazhi, Harishma, Fukru and Aswin Vijayan also appearing in the film.

Panchanama – September 11 (ZEE5)

The Telugu crime thriller Panchanama follows an honest police officer investigating a series of suspicious deaths.

The investigation gradually connects the cases to medical crimes, political corruption and the criminal underworld. The six-episode series combines a police investigation with the personal and emotional complications that come with the search for the truth.

Varavu – September 11 (ZEE5)

Malayalam action thriller Varavu stars Joju George and is directed by Shaji Kailas.

The story follows Polachan, a wealthy planter who returns home after serving a prison sentence. He is determined to settle scores with old rivals and also plans to make his missing younger brother Willy take the blame for his actions.

Vani Viswanath and Murali Gopy also feature in the film.

Lust Stories 3 – September 18 (Netflix)

Lust Stories 3 is one of the biggest Hindi OTT releases of September. The anthology premieres on Netflix on September 18 and brings four filmmakers together for four different stories.

Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj explore themes of love, desire, vulnerability and modern relationships through their individual stories.

The ensemble cast includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada.

Don’t Be Shy – September 25 (Prime Video)

Backed by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, Don’t Be Shy follows Shyamili "Shy" Das, a young woman whose carefully planned life takes an unexpected turn.

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the coming-of-age film deals with friendship, first love and heartbreak as Shy tries to understand what she actually wants from life.

Brothers – September (Apple TV)

Brothers is a meta-comedy featuring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as fictionalised versions of themselves.

The story plays on the long-running joke that the two actors could have been separated at birth, imagining an alternate reality where they actually turn out to be brothers.

The film adds another comedy title to Apple TV's September line-up.
