Interesting tones of popular colours such as teal, ketchup red are some shades that Rawal anticipates for Diwali.
The modern man is not afraid of colour and his festive dressing shows it. From maroon to teal to blush pink, men are experimenting with different shades across a variety of kurtas, bandhgalas and sherwani.
But what are the colours of the seasons and how can the modern man pull it off? Designer Kunal Rawal has a few tips:
A Pop of Colour “Men should choose tones that resonate with them rather than going for what the norm is or wearing something super bright just because it’s festive wear. Instead of the traditional maroon, you might see a dark white or a brighter red, ketchup red, depending on your personal style,” said Rawal.
Rawal believes there won’t be too much metallic shine this season but that more men would be willing to experiment with interesting tones. Some colour tones that the designer loves playing with are blush pink, ice blue, a brighter olive, charcoal grey, wine, rust, ketchup red, teal, midnight blue and black. “Black works really well for the festive season when paired against more brighter tones.”

Classic and Pastel “Neutrals and vanilla and creams never go out of style so if you’ve got a great look in a cream or a vanilla or an ivory, go for it because chances are you might be one of the most stylish ones at your party.”
Royal Hues Designer Manish Malhotra also believes that there will be an increased focus on tones this season. His latest wedding/festive collection titled ‘Maahrumysha’ features a lot of jewel tones and deep tones like wine, maroon, emerald and royal blue. “These deeper tones are dramatic and bold and sit well with the silhouette of a man.”
