From alma mater to air bonding: Mittu Chandilya meets Richard Verma at alumni meet
The event introduced the AirAsia India CEO to Richard Verma, the US ambassador to India, who's also an alma mater of the university in Pennsylvania.

"Fantastic mtg w/alumni @ USAmbIndia frm my Alma Mater World is truly small!" Chandilya tweeted, adding, "Hope 2make it closer still thru AirTravel." While Chandilya studied at the Lehigh University before doing his MBA at INSEAD, Verma attended Lehigh on an Air Force ROTC scholarship and earned a BS in Industrial Engineering, while minoring in international relations. Also present at the alumni meet was Dabur vicechairman Amit Burman.
Since graduating, Verma has served on the university's board of trustees and on the board of directors of the Lehigh University Alumni Association. The two, perhaps, bonded on their love for the skies. And we're glad that visiting his alma mater helped Chandilya put behind the recent business turbulence AirAsia has been going through recently.
