Friday nights are no longer about stepping out. They are about scrolling, debating what to watch, and finally settling down with something that fits your mood. This week’s OTT lineup understands that perfectly. From war heroes and crime investigations to loud comedies and nostalgic goodbyes, the new releases promise a little something for everyone, whether you want intensity, laughter or a binge-worthy escape.

Latest OTT releases of the week

120 Bahadur - Amazon Prime Video
Inspired by real events, 120 Bahadur takes viewers to the icy heights of Ladakh during the 1962 Battle of Rezang La. Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, leading a small group of soldiers against impossible odds. The film focuses on quiet courage, sacrifice and brotherhood rather than loud heroics, making it an emotional watch. You can watch it on Prime Video from January 16.

Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web – Netflix
Set inside the high-security world of Mumbai International Airport, Taskaree follows a customs officer tracking an international smuggling racket. Emraan Hashmi leads the series, which thrives on tension, moral dilemmas and clever twists. Neeraj Pandey’s signature grip on the thriller genre keeps the narrative sharp and binge-friendly. Available on Netflix from January 14.

Mastiii 4 – ZEE5
The chaotic trio is back. Mastiii 4 reunites Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani for another round of confusion, comedy and questionable decisions. The movie will be available from January 16. This time, middle age adds new layers to their madness. It’s loud, unapologetic and clearly aimed at fans who enjoy nostalgia mixed with slapstick humour.

Kalamkaval – SonyLIV
Mammootty headlines this Malayalam crime thriller that slowly tightens its grip. What begins as a routine village investigation gradually turns into a disturbing serial-killer story. Director Jithin K Jose relies on atmosphere and performance rather than shocks. You will see Mammootty in a new avatar. Streaming from January 16.

Bha Bha Ba – ZEE5
Absurd yet pointed, Bha Bha Ba mixes political satire with farce. Dileep plays a man who kidnaps a chief minister—not for money, but to challenge power and amplify public voices. The film starts off playful and slowly reveals sharper commentary beneath its humour. OTT release date is January 16.

Mahasenha (Volume 1) – Aha Tamil / Prime Video
Rooted in folklore and tribal beliefs, Mahasenha unfolds in the hills of Kurangani. The fantasy thriller introduces a world shaped by spirituality, environmental conflict and looming threats. Designed as the first chapter of a larger universe, the film focuses on world-building as much as storytelling. Available from January 13.

Gurram Paapi Reddy – ZEE5
This Telugu dark comedy leans fully into chaos. An absurd mission involving swapped corpses leads to property disputes and missing heirs. Smartly written and playful in tone, the film has found appreciation after its theatrical run through strong word of mouth. Released on January 16.

Bandook – Lionsgate Play
Set on a remote river island, Bandook is a grim crime thriller where murders expose fragile lives and damaged ecosystems. The film avoids spectacle, choosing realism and psychological tension to tell a disturbing, grounded story. Streaming from January 16.

One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 – Netflix
An emotional farewell to a cultural phenomenon, this documentary captures the final journey of Stranger Things. From table reads to behind-the-scenes moments, it celebrates the people and passion behind the show’s epic conclusion. Available from January 12.

The Rip – Netflix
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite as Miami narcotics cops whose partnership fractures after a drug bust reveals millions in cash. Gritty and character-driven, The Rip mixes old-school crime drama with modern urgency. Streaming from January 16.
