LOS ANGELES: Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has been found unharmed after going missing for more than 24 hours.

"Sinead O'Connor has been located. She is safe and is no longer listed as a missing/endangered person," Wilmette police said.

Police in Wilmette, Illinois, received a request to check on the well-being of O'Connor after she failed to return from a bike ride more than a day later, according to a statement obtained by Us Weekly.

The troubled singer, 49, reportedly left for the outing near the Chicago suburb at 6 am on May 15, and had still not returned by 9:30 am the following day.

"The Wilmette Police is seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O'Connor. A caller has expressed concern for her well-being, and no other information is available at this time."
