‘For you both, Uncle & Amma.’ Adivi Sesh shares a heartfelt hug with 26/11 hero Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s mom at ‘Major’ screening

Adivi Sesh’s ‘Major’ opened to rave reviews for its ‘moving’ storytelling and has already received praise for ‘striking a chord’ with the audience on the first day. However, before the film opened for the public it had a special screening in which Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s parents among others watched the movie, and after the screening Adivi Sesh shared a warm and loving hug with Unnikrishnan’s mother.

The actor took to his Instagram profile and shared a photo of him hugging Unnikrishnan’s mother, and shared it with the caption “For you both. Uncle and amma.” The photo has already accumulated many likes and garnered many comments.

Last night’s screening was a star-studded affair with Sushant Akkineni, Saiee Manjhrekar with her mom, Lakshmi Manchu, Meher Ramesh, Abhishek Agarwal, and several other celebrities present at the midnight screening.

Adivi Sesh has received a tremendous response on the film during special screenings organised in various cities which left audiences in tears, and got him standing ovations. The film, which is a retelling of the heroic way in which major Sandeep Unnikrishnan fought against terrorists and was killed which fighting to protect his country during the 2008 attacks at Mumbai’s Taj Palace Hotel, is being praised for its sensitive portrayal and outstanding performances.

Apart from last night’s special screening, the film was recently screened for the National Security Guard in Mumbai where 312 commandos and their families watched the movie and Adivi Sesh, who was also present at the screening, was awarded an honorary medal by the Black Cat Commandos for his riveting performance in the film.

Talking about the screening, Adivi Sesh told IANS that,“ When the film ended there was complete silence, they asked me to come to their headquarters and when I got there, they gave me this medal on behalf of the Black Cat Commandos. This to me is bigger than any Oscar . So I believe we have a winner with Major."

The film will hit the screens on June 3 and will be screened in three languages – Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam.
