While his father’s Manhattan home may be done up in 24k gold and marble, it was an unusual ride to the top for Donald Trump Jr, who reached the 60-odd floors to a Mumbai highrise in a construction hoist.
The US President’s eldest son spent last week visiting his namesake building in Mumbai and addressing the buyers who had gathered in the hot afternoon sun to listen to Trump Jr speak (for all of two minutes).

Flanked by a handful of Secret Service men, Trump Jr, dressed in a blue suit with brown loafers, didn’t look too hot or bothered under the collar. Instead, he took his time around the building to admire the construction, saying that it was a far cry from the plot of dust he first set his eyes on. Apart from business deals, he also loves returning to India because of the friendships he’s built here, especially with construction honcho Abhishek Lodha, he added.
“As important as business is, when you have friendship in addition to that, it makes things so much easier. That’s what me and my family experience every time we come here.”
