In what is being called one of the worst floods to have hit the region, the North-Eastern state of Assam has been ravaged by rising water levels. Around 40 lakh people in 27 of the state’s 33 districts have been impacted and around 97 people have lost their lives. On Friday, football club Arsenal took to its social media handles to send across a strong message on Assam floods.

In a five-second video posted on the social media handles, the football club expressed solidarity with the flood-hit state with a message that read, ‘We are with you’. ‘Stay strong, Assam,’ read the video caption.

“I don't understand why, then, our Celebrities, Mainstream Media, Cricket Stars are not raising their voices in support of Assamese people!” read Hussain’s tweet.
