Flying Beast Gaurav Taneja questions multiple FIRs against Ranveer Allahbadia. 'Why aren’t they summoning Sundar Pichai?'

The controversy surrounding YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia continues to escalate, with multiple FIRs being filed against him after his contentious remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. While the backlash initially stemmed from public outrage, it has now drawn criticism for what many see as excessive legal action.

YouTuber and pilot Gaurav Taneja, also known as Flying Beast, has voiced his concerns over the situation, stating that it has gone beyond a reasonable response. In a recent Instagram video, he admitted that while he initially supported the backlash against Ranveer’s comments, the legal developments have become disproportionate.

'Why Aren’t They Summoning Sundar Pichai?'

Taneja highlighted the growing legal pressure, pointing out that multiple state police forces have gotten involved. “Police from so many states have gotten involved. I just saw that the editor of the show has been taken in. They have summoned past guests. Ranveer had to move the Supreme Court just to get his FIRs clubbed,” he remarked.



He went on to criticize the authorities for selectively targeting individuals while ignoring larger platforms that host similar content. Drawing an analogy, he questioned why Google CEO Sundar Pichai wasn’t being held accountable for content on YouTube. “Why aren’t they summoning Sundar Pichai? Because they can’t. They can only go after the weaker ones,” he stated, calling the situation “insane.”

Concern Over Legal Overreach

Taneja further emphasized that justice should be proportional and not a means of harassment. “Now everyone can clearly see what is happening. This is not the democracy we voted for,” he said, expressing frustration over what he perceives as an unfair legal pursuit. He asserted that laws should be about maintaining justice, not being used selectively against certain individuals.

The controversy erupted after India’s Got Latent streamed an episode featuring Ranveer’s remarks, which triggered widespread backlash. Despite issuing a public apology and YouTube taking down the episode, the outrage intensified. In response, Samay Raina deleted all previous episodes of the show and assured full cooperation with the authorities.

Maharashtra's Cyber Crime Department has summoned Allahbadia for questioning on February 24 over the controversial remarks. Allahbadia previously failed to appear for questioning, prompting renewed summons. The case has led to at least 50 individuals being called for statements, including actor Raghu Ram and host Samay Raina, who has requested more time due to being in the US. Both Maharashtra Cyber and Mumbai Police are investigating the matter, with Raina also summoned by Mumbai Police on February 17. Allahbadia’s request to record his statement at home was denied.

Supreme Court about Ranveer Allahbadia

The Supreme Court criticized podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia for his offensive remarks, stating that popularity does not grant the right to misuse public platforms. The court condemned his language, calling it a reflection of a "dirty mindset" and questioned why he should be shielded from accountability, as reported by *Bar and Bench*.

Despite the reprimand, the court granted Allahbadia protection from arrest. Additionally, it ordered him to surrender his passport at Thane police station and barred him from leaving the country without prior approval. The court also prohibited him from airing further YouTube shows. Justice Kant stated that if any other FIR based on the same allegations is filed in Jaipur, the stay on his arrest will continue.
