From corporate life to creative calling
According to a report by The Better India, Shibani’s journey began far away from the pottery wheel. After dedicating nearly a decade to the education sector, she eventually transitioned into the fast-paced edtech industry. However, as her daily routine became increasingly dominated by screens and desk-bound tech tasks, she began feeling a deep disconnect from her inner creativity.
While Shibani didn't hate her job, she deeply missed the days when her hands were stained with paint. As a child, she was constantly doodling and crafting, but like most of us, she never thought her childhood hobbies could pay the bills. Her creative rebirth started small, with hand-painted wooden photo frames and custom nameplates. On a total whim, while still balancing her corporate 9-to-5, she booked a stall at a Bengaluru flea market.
Shibani’s thoughtuilly curated products flew off the shelves, and soon, a flood of eager buyers who missed the event started blowing up her Instagram DMs. As small orders consistently rolled in, what started as a therapeutic weekend escape suddenly felt like a viable career path. Within months, she took the ultimate leap of faith, handed in her resignation, and moved back to Pune to dive into her art full-time.
From handcrafted ceramics to celebrity homes
Today, Shibani's studio's extensive catalog features everything from custom nameplates to statement wall decor. Driven by a deep love for the outdoors, her signature style relies heavily on bold, bright floral motifs, which recently inspired a brand-new line of garden decor. Her commitment to nature isn't just visual, either—the brand has completely swapped out plastic packaging for eco-friendly paper and fabric.
The studio's biggest breakthrough arrived when Sonam Kapoor spotted her work on Instagram. The style icon commissioned a massive, 6,000-tile kitchen installation where every tile required meticulous hand-painting to form continuous, flowing murals where no two pieces were exactly alike. That career-defining project catapulted her into the big leagues. Today, Shibani collaborates closely with architects, interior designers, and homeowners worldwide, turning everyday spaces into living art inspired by Indian heritage and the beauty of daily life.
