Flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia to perform at an all-night music and dance concert
BENGALURU: Flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will give the inaugural performance at YAMINI, an all-night Indian classical music and dance concert series organised by the Bengaluru-based Symbiosis School of Media and Communication (SSMC), in association with Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth ( SPIC MACAY). The institute is joining hands with the Electronic City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA) to make this a zero garbage event.

Vikram Sampath, director, SSMC, said, "We hope the event will initiate a new culture of arts appreciation not just among the students, but also among the residents of Electronic City."

Other participating artists include Magsaysay awardee TM Krishna, chitravina player Vidwan T Ravikiran, Hindustani classical vocalist Pandit Venkatesh Kumar and Kathakali exponent Kottakkal Chandrashekharan. The event - to be held on the lawns of Symbiosis International University (SIU) - will start at 7 pm on August 14 and will go on till 7 am on the following day.

The event is non-ticketed and is open to all.
