First look of 'Captain America: Civil War' villain Crossbones unveiled

LOS ANGELES: The first look at " Captain America: Civil War" new villain Crossbones, played by Frank Grillo, has been unveiled.

In the picture, the character wears masks with a big "X" written on his costume, reported Ace Showbiz.

Crossbones is the superhero incarnation of Brock Rumlow, one of the rogue S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives on the take for H.Y.D.R.A. in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

He's the guy who leads the attack on Captain America ( Chris Evans) in the elevator. At the end, Brock suffered severe burns in the helicarrier crash which caused the facial cover-up.

While Crossbones' movie backstory differs from the comics, the character ultimately serves a pivotal role in the "Civil War" storyline as he's the one responsible for the assassination of Captain America.

"Captain America: Civil War", also starring Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and Tom Holland, is set to release in the US on May 6.
