Filter coffee, panki & monsoon: Paytm boss Vijay Shekhar Sharma & GOQii founder Vishal Gondal enjoy Mumbai food

Monsoon is the perfect setting for comfort food, especially if you are enjoying the Mumbai rains.

Entrepreneurs and friends Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Vishal Gondal have been busy exploring the streets of the city and bingeing on delicious Mumbai food.

The GOQii founder took to Twitter to share glimpses of their culinary journey around the city.


Gondal dropped a picture with the Paytm founder - heading to the DP's Fast Food Center, known for great pav bhaji, in Matunga. He also dropped a small poem for his more than 54K followers on Twitter.

"Zindagi ek jigsaw puzzle ki tarah hai, mere dost, har pieces ko sahi jagah par fit karna padta hai. (Life is like a jigsaw puzzle, my friend. Every piece must go in the right place.) Exploring Mumbai's flavorful puzzle with Vijay Shekhar Sharma at DP's Fast Food, Matunga. The city's spirit, its food, our friendship - all pieces fitting perfectly in the Bambaiya story," he wrote.


In a follow-up tweet, the 47-year-old fitness tech boss said that the duo even visit Swati Snacks in Tardeo, Mumbai - the same place where Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene took Apple CEO Tim Cook for vada pav during his India trip.

The start-up bosses enjoyed the Mumbai rains as they binged on hot filter coffee and traditional Gujarati dishes like panki (savoury pancakes made with rice flour and banana leaves) with green mint chutney and handwo (savoury cake made with moong dal and semolina).

"Mumbai rains create the perfect mood outside. Nothing beats tucking into some garam filter coffee, panki chatni and handwo when the baarish hits the city! Loving these vibes," Gondal wrote in his next tweet.


Sharma and Gondal often accompany each other to explore food together.

Earlier in April, the duo - along with renowned cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Shriram Nene - visited Cafe Madras in Matunga.


"What's crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and brings people together? Our breakfast at Cafe Madras in Matunga. We laughed over dosa jokes and idli puns while indulging in a South Indian feast fit for kings. Food was so good, even our taste buds chuckled! Paid using Paytm soundbox," Gondal's tweet read.


Gondal shared pictures of their lavish South Indian feast with dosa, idli, medu vada, kesari bath and Mumbai's favourite street food vada pav.
