Bad news for ‘Fighter’ fans.

The upcoming Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone-starrer has been indefinitely banned in the Gulf countries.

Girish Johar, a trade analyst and producer took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday and wrote, “ “In a setback, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release. Only UAE will release the film with a PG15 classification !"

However, the reason behind the ban has not been disclosed yet. Although it will not be screened in other Gulf nations, it will have a theatrical release in the UAE, albeit with a PG15 classification.

About ‘Fighter’

Touted to be the first-ever aerial drama in Bollywood, ‘Fighter’ is a high-octane action adventure. It revolves around the Balakot air strike that took place in 2019. The strike was carried out by the Indian AIr Force against terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in retaliation to a terror attack in J&K. Forty members of the group lost their lives in the attack.

The movie is directed by ‘Pathaan’ director Siddharth Anand. It marks the first on-screen collaboration between Roshan and Padukone.

Roshan essays the role of Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania aka Patty. Padukone will step into the shoes of his colleague Squadron Leader Minal Rathore aka Minni.
