'Felt helpless and powerless’: Preity Zinta on her family’s Covid-19 battle
The ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ star is currently in Los Angeles where she is quarantining with her husband.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who is in Los Angeles with her husband Gene Goodenough, on Monday took to Instagram to reveal that she went through a harrowing time watching her family cope with Covid.
"I felt helpless and powerless", Zinta wrote in a post as she recalled the experience of her mother and brother, who had both tested positive for Covid-19 three weeks ago, went through. Her family members have now tested negative for the virus.
Zinta thanked all the doctors and nurses who took care of her family during their Covid-19 recovery. "I’m so grateful to the almighty and to all those wonderful doctors & nurses that worked tireless to take care of them," she wrote.
The 45-year-old actress, who is also the owner of IPL team Kings XI Punjab, also urged people to take the virus seriously and not let their guard down when it came to taking precautions like wearing a mask and and maintaining social distance. "This can become dangerous overnight so please take care," Zinta warned.
Upon hearing the news, the 'Kal Ho Na Ho' star's fans and friends sent their good wishes. "So glad to know that they are all fine now ? Take care PZ and stay safe!," one wrote. “Happy to know that they are recovered,” another said.

Zinta moved to Los Angeles after her marriage to Goodenough in 2016. However, the 'Veer-Zaara' actress frequently visits India. Zinta owns Kings XI IPL cricket team which she bought in 2008.
The ‘Kya Kehna’ actress was last seen in director Neeraj Pathak's action-comedy 'Bhaiaji Superhit' which hit the silver screens in 2018.
