Kash Patel subsequently held several senior positions in the Trump administration, including serving on the National Security Council and as chief of staff at the Department of Defence. Before becoming FBI director, he was also deputy director of national intelligence. His rise has made him a prominent and sometimes controversial figure in US politics, particularly among Trump's supporters.

Who is Alexis Wilkins?

How did Kash Patel and Alexis Wilkins meet?

Kash Patel and Alexis Wilkins reportedly first met at a gathering in Nashville in 2022 connected to country musician John Rich. They began dating in early 2023, before Patel became FBI director. Alexis was later seen alongside Kash at his FBI swearing-in ceremony in February 2025, placing their relationship in the public spotlight as Patel began his tenure leading the bureau. The couple has also appeared together at political and sporting events. Their relationship has occasionally attracted scrutiny because of Patel's official position, including questions surrounding his use of FBI aircraft for travel connected to events where Wilkins was performing. Patel has defended his travel arrangements, while the FBI has said security considerations govern how its director travels.

What did Alexis Wilkins say about the engagement?

Alexis kept the engagement announcement short and playful. In the photograph, she stands beside Patel and holds up her left hand to showcase the diamond ring. The couple's announcement marks another public milestone for a couple whose relationship began quietly in Nashville and became increasingly visible as Patel moved into one of the most powerful law-enforcement positions in the United States. The engagement comes after more than three years together and at a time when both Patel and Wilkins have established public identities extending beyond their respective careers.

Kash Patel's position as FBI director places him at the centre of US law enforcement and national security, while Wilkins has built a profile through country music and conservative political circles. Their engagement therefore brings together two figures who have increasingly appeared at the intersection of entertainment, politics and Washington's public life. For now, however, the couple's announcement was less about politics and more about a personal milestone summed up by Wilkins' tongue-in-cheek caption and a photograph showing off the ring.
