Prabhas is gearing up for another ambitious big-screen spectacle with Fauzi, one of the most anticipated Telugu films currently in production. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the period war drama promises a blend of action, emotion and patriotism, with the actor stepping into the role of a soldier during the pre-Independence era. With filming progressing at a brisk pace and a massive budget backing the project, the movie has already become one of the most talked-about releases of 2026.

Streaming details of Prabhas' Fauzi

Even before its theatrical release, Fauzi has made headlines for its digital rights. According to 123Telugu report and AA Films, Netflix has reportedly acquired the South Indian OTT rights for a record Rs 180 crore, making it one of the biggest streaming deals for a Telugu film. This means viewers will be able to watch the film on Netflix after it completes its theatrical run, although the official streaming date has not yet been announced. The makers haven't announced anything yet.

Moreover, the Hindi OTT rights are still unsold. Reports suggest they are expected to fetch a premium price because of Prabhas' strong pan-India popularity. The makers are yet to reveal which platform will stream the Hindi version.

Fauzi is currently scheduled to release in theatres in December 2026 in multiple languages. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is reportedly being mounted on a staggering Rs 700 crore budget, making it one of the most expensive Indian films currently under production.

The film has already generated huge excitement among trade experts, with reports also claiming that AA Films has acquired the Hindi theatrical distribution rights for Rs 60 crore or more, underlining the confidence surrounding the project.

Prabhas returns to the sets

The film is set to enter another important phase of production as the team begins filming a high-octane interval action sequence from July 10. Prabhas is expected to join the shoot along with the principal cast and crew for one of the movie's biggest action blocks.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi features debutante Imanvi as the female lead. The supporting cast includes veteran actors Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada, Mithun Chakraborty, Chaitra J. Achar and Rajesh Sharma.

Unlike Prabhas' recent science-fiction and fantasy films, Fauzi is rooted in history. The film is set in pre-Independence India and follows the journey of a soldier who leads a lone battalion in a fight for freedom, honour and sacrifice. The story combines large-scale action with emotional drama against the backdrop of India's freedom movement.

Acclaimed composer Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music, adding another major attraction to the project.

Makers dismiss reports about Fauzi star Rajesh Sharma

The film recently found itself in the headlines after reports claimed actor Rajesh Sharma had been hospitalised following an alleged insect bite during the shoot at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City.

However, the Fauzi team has denied that the incident took place on the film's set. According to Glute report, the makers said they were unaware of any such incident and clarified that Rajesh Sharma had completed his scheduled portions nearly a week earlier before returning home.

Apart from Fauzi, Prabhas has an exciting lineup of films. He is expected to return in Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani. The actor will also headline Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures.

With a record-breaking digital deal already in place, a huge production budget and one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema leading the cast, Fauzi is shaping up to be one of the most awaited releases of 2026. Stay tuned!
