Fast & Furious movies leaving OTT soon
However, the franchise is now making headlines again, this time for OTT reasons. Eight films from the series are set to leave Netflix India on March 1. For fans who were planning a rewatch or a full-blown marathon, this is the final window to stream them on the platform. The titles exiting include The Fast and the Furious (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015), and the spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019).
Among these, Fast Five is often credited with redefining the franchise. Released in 2011, it shifted the tone from street racing to an elaborate heist thriller, expanding the ensemble cast. Meanwhile, Furious 7 remains an emotional high point, serving as a tribute to Walker and closing with a scene that left fans teary-eyed.
For the unversed, the franchise kicked off with The Fast and the Furious and expanded into an 11-film universe. Over time, the storytelling grew bigger, moving beyond underground racing into international espionage and high-stakes heists. Yet, despite the larger explosions and elaborate action set pieces, the emotional core remained intact, loyalty, friendship and standing by your chosen family.
