LOS ANGELES: "Fast & Furious 7" has crossed the $ 1 billion mark at the worldwide box office in just 17 days.

It's a new record for the fastest climb to the box office milestone as "The Avengers", "Avatar" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" climed the mark in 19 days, said the Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by James Wan and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham and Ludacris, the earnings by this movie has propelled the series past $ 3 billion worldwide.
